Francisco Semião

Francisco Semião is a native Washingtonian and a professional with experience in domestic policy and international relations. He holds two master’s degrees from The George Washington University and Marymount University School of Business. Over the past 18 years, Francisco has worked for the Washington, D.C. area’s key government agencies, nonprofit organizations and academic institutions.

Francisco served in leadership positions overseeing successful grant proposal submissions totaling over $50 million, managing numerous projects, advising on regulatory compliance, and serving as a government affairs representative at the state and federal levels. Additionally, he has served as an advisor and board member for several international affairs related organizations.

In 2008, Francisco established the National Organization of Portuguese-Americans. During his eleven-year tenure as executive director and founding board member, he made significant advances in advancing the relationship between the United States and Portugal. He also launched an initiative with a focus on economic and global issues related to all the Portuguese speaking countries.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Francisco received invitations to provide analysis for NTN24, Univision, Telemundo, AzoresTV, and RTP. After the elections, the international network NTN24 invited him to remain as a visiting domestic and global policy commentator, which became a recurring role on their weekly news show Poder Latino, which is now named Cuestión de Poder.
