It is very difficult to explain to a foreign audience, however well-traveled, sophisticated and knowledgeable about European and world politics and history it may be, what is happening in Spain at this start of the autumn of 2023.
It is difficult and also painful to explain how your homeland, none other than Spain, one of the nations with the most glorious trajectory for being decisive in the history of humanity, has been left literally in the hands of vulgar criminals. And that its institutions, its laws, its heritage, its security and of course its money are being liquidated, perverted and embezzled by a band of ruffians whose only objective is to be able to keep doing so indefinitely with their ringleader Pedro Sánchez.
Some say for four more years. Others of us believe that if they now manage to violate the laws as they intend and to blow up, with an amnesty, the legal system of the constitutional regime, those four years may turn into many more, because the regime resulting from their coup d’état currently under way will lack mechanisms for a real alternation of power.
With the total change of regime and the imposition of the repression mechanisms proper to their ideology, the aforementioned criminals dig themselves in for four years in order to usurp power for an indefinite time.
This is what I was telling on Thursday at the Casino de Madrid to all the participants in the gala dinner of Advancing Freedom, a Think Tank Central gathering, with representatives of up to 42 policy and thought foundations of the conservative orbit. Held over two days at the CEU-CEFAS headquarters, the gathering was attended by dozens of speakers, politicians, academics and intellectuals coordinated by the New Direction Foundation of the ECR Group of the European Parliament and the Disenso Foundation.
The majority of the participants, from dozens of countries of Europe and America, from Argentina to Estonia, from the U.S. to Bulgaria, from Spain to Poland, were already aware that Spain had long ago entered an anomaly that had brought communists to power.
Spain is the only country in the European Union that has followers of that openly criminal ideology in its government. With good reason the European Parliament equated communism, four years ago now, with National Socialism as essentially murderous ideologies of a criminal nature.
But they could not be aware of the degree of contempt for legality and for the truth, for his commitments and promises, that Pedro Sánchez has reached with the situation created by the arithmetic of the electoral results.
He already scandalized in the last term with his alliance with communists who are a pure franchise of the São Paulo Forum, the narco-communist multinational, with the not-even-reformed terrorists of Bildu and the unrepentant coup-plotters of ERC whom he pardoned against all his promises; now he already has to make a pact with fugitive criminals who demand of him an amnesty that destroys the current democratic regime, a self-determination under terror that destroys territory and the Nation, and a plundering of Spain of 450 billion that amounts to a Napoleonic pillage for the benefit of the most pampered and subsidized Spanish region for more than a century, but very especially under Franco and this regime of ’78.
All this is hard to explain but impossible to understand for those who cannot believe in the tyranny of the absurd, the lie and theft in a European country of the size and history of Spain. One has to explain to them, as I did, that soon it will be 20 years since some bombs changed the history of Spain. And there came to power those who wanted to win a war that their fellow ideologues lost 80 years ago. Win they have not won, for the moment, more than the booty, admittedly already massive, of their private plundering of corrupt enrichment. What they have achieved in any case is to create a situation of arbitrariness, abuse, imposition, dismantling of rights and contempt for the law on the part of the government, similar to the one that existed in the tragic years that preceded that tragic conflict.
But since one cannot close a speech at a dinner of so many and such distinguished guests with such black omens as those that invade millions of us Spaniards, I reminded them that in June there are European elections. And that, as in Spain, throughout Europe many things are going to happen between now and then and afterward, and certainly not all of them bad.
In June in Europe the conservative forces are going to manage to form a great bloc that will force the formations of the European People’s Party to decide whether they remain definitively anchored to the social democracy that leads the EU toward impoverishment, centralism and failed socialism.
Or whether they join, in a majority that will be viable, the national and sovereigntist forces that will change Europe for the better, abolish the ideological climate-Bolshevik and mendacious tyranny, dismiss the troop of Von der Leyen, Josep Borrell and the Davos sect, and open all the doors to freedom, to plurality and to the return to respect for the nations and the interests of their peoples.
Then the unjustified punishments of conservative governments such as the Polish and the Hungarian, the threats to the Italian one and the uncontrolled gifts to Sánchez’s criminal government will come to an end. Then, for once, that great falsehood of Ortega y Gasset with which they have been badgering us since time immemorial, that “Spain is the problem, Europe the solution,” could even be true. This has never been true. It may not even be necessary for it to be so this time, and Spaniards may rebel first against the criminal project of stripping them of their homeland, their rights, their freedom and all access to truth, as that curse of a character intends, the one who brought us that curse of a party whose banner is resentment and failure, hatred and envy.
